The Christie is the first UK center in UK to be officially presented with its Comprehensive Cancer Centre accreditation.
Complementary therapy service at The Christie, lead by the speaker Peter Mackereth, Ph.D., M.A., offers a range of therapies, massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, to help alleviate the emotions and symptoms that often accompany the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Patients have reported that some treatments can help with symptoms such as pain, difficulties with sleeping and anxiety. This complementary therapy service was awarded the Prince of Wales's Foundation for Integrated Health 'Best Practice' Award in 2003. See the Press releases section for full details.
